Teenager Verbally Attacked By Anti-LGBTQ Man On Manhattan Subway Platform

According to the NYPD, a 17-year-old teenage girl was approached by an unidentified man who screamed homophobic and transphobic slurs and fled the scene. The event happened on Feb. 18, just before 8 a.m., at the southbound E and F platform 53rd Street and Lexington Avenue subway station.
He was seen wearing black pants, a red sweatshirt and a tan colored vest. Police have yet to make an arrest but the man is wanted for aggravated harassment as a hate crime.
Hate crimes have increased 5% in New York City, especially in Manhattan, from 2020 to 2021, police data revealed.
