Dallas' 'Straight Pride' On Nov. 16 Postponed Due To 'Money'

Super Happy Fun America (SHFA), the organizers of Boston’s “Straight Pride” event in August, announced they were heading to Dallas, Texas, to support a similar event held by "Protecting Our Next Generations," (PONG) on Saturday, Nov. 16. However, one of the event's speakers announced the event was going to be postponed due to the city asking for a fee.
"Protecting the Next Generations Parade is going to be postponed to a later date. At the last minute the city of Dallas price gouged us and asked for enormous amouts of money. We are going to regroup and set the event for a later date, please keep in contact with us for future updates! We apologize for the inconvenience....WE ARE NOT BACKING DOWN; NEW DATE COMING SOON....AND WE ARE NOT RUNNING," Teresa Stephens Richenberger said.
PONG hopes that their event is going to bring “attention to the sexualization and corruption of America’s children taking place and the far left’s attempts to silence opposition.”
SHFA wrote on their website that they’re “building a coalition with patriot groups across the nation in order to defend our constitutional republic which is continually under attack.”
Richenberger was a speaker at the Boston Straight Pride Parade. PONG's Facebook event page lists Richenberger as a "best-selling author;" however, efforts to find any quantifiable numbers to back this claim up online were unsuccessful. Richenberger's book, "Sold to the Highest Bidder," was released in 2012 and only has 62 ratings on Amazon and 50 ratings on Goodreads.
SHFA's event was supposed to take place at Dallas City Hall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and was allegedly going to discuss the following topics:
Sex/Human Trafficking
Legalized Prostitution
Marriage values (Marriage should be between one cis-het man and one cis-het woman)
Abortion (claims it is murder)
Genders (Claims there are only two and that sex and gender are the same. Ex: XX as female and XY as male)
Ploys of the “radical” left wing LGBTQ+ groups (trying to shut down cis-her businesses and churches)
Drag Queen Story Times (claims LGBTQ+ people are “pushing this onto our children”)
SHFA’s Boston event was criticized and called a “white supremacist Trump rally” online. There were approximately 100 to 200 attendees and many more counter-protestors.
Dallas’ LGBTQ+ and anti-fascist activists are already preparing for a counter-protest. Dallas Anti-Fascist League (DAFL) planned “Silence = Death, Counter the Homophobic Threat."
In a public statement, the group said Protecting Our Next Generation (PONG) “It has recently come to our attention that an organization known as Protect Our Next Generation (PONG), based in the Longview, TX area, has organized a hate rally at Dallas City Hall Nov. 16 at 10a.m. The leader of this organization, Teresa Richenberger, is listed as a leader on the Super Happy Fun America, a 501(c)4 that has ties to Neo-Nazi and other hate groups around the country. The organizers are using opposition to human trafficking and support for “straight pride” to cover their actual agenda: inciting hate against the LGBT community...
"We affirm the rights hard-fought by the LGBT community and refuse to go back to hiding who we are to appease homophobes and transphobes. We affirm that sex-workers are workers and recognize that legislation against them only results in making their work more dangerous. We affirm the right of people to have access to healthcare. This includes family planning and contraception. We affirm our right to community self-defense when bigots roam our streets inciting social and physical violence. PONG’s presence is itself an attack on Dallas, designed to waste city resources to protect their hate-speech. In fact, the whole hate rally is likely a grift designed to solicit sympathy donations from bigots and religious extremists following this spectacle...
"This hate rally comes only four months after we lost Chynal Lindsey to transphobic violence. This is the third unsolved murder of a trans woman in Dallas this year. We remember the unsolved homophobic Oak Lawn attacks of 2015. We remember the police raids of Rainbow Lounge and The Club in 2009 and 2010. We remember the miscarriage of justice following Tommy and John’s death in 1988.Where hate speech flows, hate crimes follow. We can’t trust the police to protect us, but we can trust each other. We sear the motto “SILENCE = DEATH” on our hearts. Bash back,” the DAFL wrote.
It is unknown at this time when the event will be rescheduled; however, DAFL is ready to counter protest regardless of the day.
